We are as one of the pioneers of Turkish Maritime Sector - Shipping & Trading Companies, have been dealing with maritime transport and ship owning in the sector since 1920's.

Mr. Mustafa TELLİ from Inebolu – Evrenye (Gemiciler), started to shipping sector with wooden sail boats, which are taken over from his father in 1921. Liquid fuel/petroleum products inside tins are delivered to coastal cities of Black Sea. In 1960s, Turkey’s one of the first sheet-iron made tanker is built by Turkish Maritime Sector’s well-known and respected pioneer; Mr. Kemal TELLİ (As Mustafa TELLİ’s Son).

In 1962, family members established their first official company called "Petrol Transport". In that period, up to 10 modern tanker vessels between 1.000 – 6.000 DWT’s added to the fleet and Turkey’s one of the top listed Turkish flag-fleet is constituted.

In 1981 "Kalyon Shipping" and in 1992 "Kemal Telli Tanker Ownership" companies are established and connected to the group by Mr. Kemal TELLİ. In 1993 and 2001, some family members in the group are divided up with sharing other companies.

In 1998, our company - Kalyon Shipping & Trading Co. Inc. is ISM (International Safety Management) certified by Lloyd's Register Class Society. Now, continuing successfully in the sector as 3rd generation of the family.
